The start of October was my 30th birthday and instead of a party or anything like that Tim took the girls and me to DC for the weekend. We flew out on a Thursday and stayed till Saturday. Yep, just one full day in DC and we packed a lot in! Thursday night some very dear friends met us for dinner at the Matchbox and then Tim took the girls up for bed and I hung out with the girls in the hotel restaurant for desert it was really yummy! and the coffee wow!
friends from college who live a bit south of DC and
a friend from NY that relocated to south of DC
a friend from NY that relocated to south of DC
yep that was that good
The next day we went to the Zoo and then grabbed lunch rested and then headed down to the Washington Mall, we didn't make it into any museums but just took it all in planning another trip down.
The girls had a blast and E1 loved vacation and can't wait for another one. When we got back home E1 got really sick (like the day we flew home) and when she went to the Dr's we found out that she had croup. Poor girl felt awful, thankfully she was able to sleep the whole trip home but it took a bit to get over being sick. Even with that it was a great time and a great way to celebrate turning 30.
Flash forward to the end of the month (we didn't do much in-between between E1 being sick and my first craft fair) and Halloween. We don't do the scary stuff but dressing up and getting candy is always fun so the girls were butterflies for Halloween this year. E2 actually wore the costume that E1 wore for 2 years so we've gotten lots of use out of that purple butterfly costume.
